New Brands to Watch with Danielle Licata

This August, industry experts from around the world will gather in Las Vegas at PROJECT WOMENS, the ultimate destination for contemporary collections, denim and accessories.   

Danielle Licata, Brand Director gives us her perspective on some of the brands that can't be missed this season on the PROJECT WOMENS show floor.

What are new PROJECT WOMENS brands that you are excited to see on the show floor this August? 

 

JULIANA GEVAERD 

The Juliana Gevaerd brand explores ample and elegant shapes; the textures of thread, embroidery and textile printing, lots of linen, silk, cotton and technological fibers, creativity and innovation in the characteristics that accompany the fluid and timeless concepts in its 20 years of history. Ethically Manufactured clothing. Juliana Gevaerd encourages sustainable agriculture. The cotton and silk thread used by the brand are developed through natural processes, with minimal machinery intervention. The spinning is handmade. The colors are produced with vegetable dyeing using plants and herbal compounds.

Why does this new brand stand out to you the most? 

Danielle: The styles are simple, yet chic and elegant.  

Are there important key trends that you are seeing with this brand? 

Danielle: Yes, they are a sustainable brand that has a mix of knits and embroidery within the collection. 

Why will retailers want to shop this new brand?

Danielle: They encourage sustainable agriculture and they use rustic silk yarns in their clothing. 

 

KIVARI 

The Kivari woman is full of adventure, wonder and discovery... she is the soul seeker, and doer. Always in pursuit of freedom and a new journey, she wears her worldly bohemian leathers and apparel not just for the soft, free-flowing comfort, but for what it represents to her. Each collection is created to ensure she is part of a culture that forever strives to be the free spirited soul searchers of the world. 

KIVARI

Why does this new brand stand out to you the most? 

Danielle: Kivari is speaking to the market in a new way that is fresh. It’s use of prints to differentiate the collection are new. 

Are there important key trends that you are seeing with this brand? 

Danielle: Kivari offers new silhouettes in sweaters, tops, dresses and jackets that are new and fresh.

Why will retailers want to shop this new brand?

Danielle: New, fresh design perspective and the price point is so good.

 

CHRLDR

CHRLDR offers super-soft knit tops and luxury active wear in a mosaic of styles. Designed for free-spirited women who live in the moment, CHRLDR clothing makes a bold and sophisticated statement, with equal parts whimsy and sass.

Why does this new brand stand out to you the most? 

Danielle: Their take on casual/active has merged into a full blown lifestyle collection with wearable pieces.

Are there important key trends that you are seeing with this brand? 

Danielle: Their tees, leggings, joggers and item driven swim present in tight collections that are wearable and merchandisable .

Why will retailers want to shop this new brand?

Danielle: It is not over distributed and its look is tapping into the active/casual streetwear look without it pushing too hard.
