The second edition of Footwear@Coterie is bringing you the best in luxury footwear for women. This September, Footwear@Coterie has expanded to feature an even larger presentation of international footwear designers. Over half the exhibiting brands are from outside the U.S., showcasing sought-after collections from Italy, Spain, Brazil, Germany, Sweden, England, France, Japan and beyond.
With a pulse on the fashion footwear industry, Leslie Gallin, President of Footwear at UBM Fashion, shares her insider point-of-view on the key footwear trends to look for in Spring 2018.
Leslie Gallin’s Top 5 Shoe Trends for Spring ’18
1. Embellished Sneakers. “Embellishments are making their way onto the casual-cool sneaker. The added flair dresses up this comfy style for a modern, fashion-forward look.”
2. Booties. “One of the biggest and best shoe trends—the bootie—has proven itself throughout all of the seasons and continues to be a closet staple. Look out for new styles with embroidery, pearl details or metallic colors.”
3. Loafers. "Loafers have been elevated to “cult status.” Offering the perfect balance of feminine-appeal and menswear inspired, the loafer trend can be found in a variety of styles. Think bold colors, block heels and pointed toes, just to name a few."
4. Kitten Heels. "For Spring ’18, women’s brands are embracing the kitten heel as an alternative to low block heels. This traditional silhouette has become the season’s winning style allowing for both comfort and sophistication."

Ciao Mao was founded in 2007 by the designer Priscila Callegari from a depth questioning about the fashion industry, the reach of design and the role of a contemporary brand. Although there is a large amount of existing offers of shoes and accessories, we are subjected to imposed and uncomfortable options, standard solutions that massify and disrespect us. We believe it is possible to see and change the world through original design! Design is not just shape, it’s a way of seeing and acting in the world.
